Hi
I'm trying to find the month in which The Odd Women was published, in 1893. Could you help?
Regards
Michael

I haven't visited this site for some years. I see Gissing is still alive and well. I need to catch up on some of his books and read some of the recent scholarship. I have been busy becoming an amateur reviewer on amazon, but have been sidetracked, alas, away from Gissing.

The Gissing Collection in Alberta, Canada honors Roland Gissing. A major exhibit of art works will be held this year. Google the name for official site. I believe there is a watercolor painting by Roland Gissing in Wakefield.

4 【The Private Papers of Henry Ryecroft】
★ 2006/09/07(Thu)
I have just started reading "The Private Papers of Henry Ryecroft," and I have been impressed with the book. I wanted to know when the book was written, and through this web site, I found out it was in 1902.
I have difficulty in understanding the few sentences in a foreign language (Latin?) that appear in the book. I hope to find the translation somewhere on the Internet.

My Grandfather Roland Gissing is George Gissing's nephew. Roland came to western Canada in 1913 to pursue the life of a cowboy. By the time of his death in 1967 he had become one of the west's best known and loved landscape artists. Historic memorabilia in our family included early editions of George Gissing's novels. Roland's history and artwork can be viewed on his website. Just google his name. enjoy!
